DOUG KENDALL - Vocals:
"Chug" began singing at a very early age, took up the drums in school band class at age 11 and wrote
his first Heavy Metal song while still in High School. He dabbled in guitar, but singing was always his forte. He has always been
a die-hard "Metalhead," but his first real band was a Southern Rock outfit; Doug agreed to join the band as a drummer,
right out of High School, just because he wanted to play for audiences and there were few (if any) rocking bands in his area. He
has played in Heavy Metal, Classic Rock, Modern Rock and Southern Rock bands, and his last gig was singing for an SC-based modern
rock band called UGLYSTICK, of which Will (bass) was briefly a member. Doug recorded some solo material, a few years ago, and the
first song from those early sessions (Life Support) was re-recorded and featured on the new DOWNCOUNT album, "SOUNDTRACK
OF THE REVOLUTION." DOWNCOUNT originally started out as a revival of Doug's solo project, but after teaming up with Eric (guitar)
the two decided to write together and form a band. Doug is an outspoken Voluntaryist; a former "computer guy"; political talk
radio show host; and a Diamonds Graduate (GD) from Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
ERIC FLEMING - Guitar:
After hearing
Randy Rhoads' guitar playing on Blizzard of Ozz, Eric knew that he had found his calling. He picked up the guitar at age 12, and
continues to be drawn to guitar players like Dimebag Darrell, Jerry Cantrell, Ty Tabor, and the late Dime's Favorite, Ace Frehley.
After playing guitar in a few different bands, Eric has finally found the lineup that matches his vision: "Heavy driving music, with
vocal melodies and harmonies that will hook you like barbed-wire!"
MARLON SLATER - Drums:
Marlon has been drumming for 20
plus years in a variety of projects. No matter the genre, Marlon's versatility behind the kit has allowed him to perform with
many different acts and styles of music. From Country, touring with Green Linet recording artist Seconds Flat, to Jazz with the
swingin' ensemble Razzmajazz, and rock/pop/r&b with Upstate South Carolina's RetroVertigo, Marlon's abilities shine through. Learning
the fundamentals in Junior High band and High School Marching, Concert and Jazz bands, Marlon also continued honing his skills later
with private lessons. Professionally, he has played in front of a crowd of more than 5,000 at the Strawberry Music Festival
in Sonora, California. He sites his drumming influences as John Bonham, Neil Peart, Bill Bruford, Vinnie Colaiuta, Manu Katche,
Danny Carey and Tony Williams among many others.
WILL WIGGINS - Bass:
Will "Thudstick" Wiggins is a lighting and sound technician and
has been playing bass and guitar in original bands since the late 80's, including SC punk legends "Up-Tight," Columbia alt-rock faves
"Tarwater," and leading Florence's pop-punk outfit, "stickgirl." More recently He also held the bass spot in local alt/punk super-group
"The Significant Others" (featuring members of the Independents, 49 Reasons, Strike-o-Matics), as well as Steve Stone's solo outfit
"Stevarion."
